@arthurcbrooks: 31% of extramarital affairs start at work. And even seemingly harmless situations can create emotional risks. It's important to set clear boundaries to protect the relationships that matter most.

it’s your personal responsibility to have those boundaries. i won’t be friends with a male coworker if he flirts or talks poorly of his wife. only people who aren’t happy at home will cheat.

This. I think this is like 20% of the reason or more of why military members are always considered “cheaters”. Doctors. Firefighters. Business people.

It’s true, it’s like having a second life. It’s easy to compartmentalise and before they know it, something started. It’s all too easy. Work culture contributes to relationship peril. Don’t go to the supermarket hungry

If you’re tempted to step out of your relationship because of a temptation that might exist in a Christmas party, you have bigger issues to deal with then what’s going on in your relationship.

Why is it up to companies to be responsible? People are adults and know right from wrong.

I think this should be normalized. No outside events without a plus one. I would want to go with my spouse

I mean. I would just say understand the risks, put the effort in to maintain your relationships, and know what the boundaries of your relationships are, and then stick to them. You know, be an adult

Work relationships shouldn’t involve overnight or overly personal situations. I can do my job and have a team minded professional level of comradery without spending time away on a trip with my coworkers when I’d rather experience the trip with my partner. Lines get blurred and crossed. Not the employers responsibility but let’s keep it simple and professional. Do the plus one for holiday parties but not an employee appreciation lunch or dinner a couple of times a year. Don’t cut into my personal life with work functions and my partner not be included. It is each individuals responsibility to have self control and determine that opening certain doors is not acceptable to maintain a healthy relationship with their partner.
