I was under the impression that like EVERY Disney princess was at least 18 years old. Except Ariel, since she straight up says "Im 16 years old" in The Little Mermaid.

Also there is an argument for implied consent. Irl that’s not good enough, but she had met and fallen in love with the prince before (in Disney. Which is supposedly the first instance of her woken up by a kiss)

I am history nerd so I have to like correct this one misconception about history whenever I hear it…. But no life expectancy for humans was rarely that low when you correct for the infant mortality rate soooo many children died before 5 it vastly skews the numbers once you’ve made past that age most likely you were going to live into your 50s or older. Over all though your point is valid and absolutely stands. Besides the truth about it being none consensual shouldn’t depend on her age.

Snow White should be 8 when she is banished but older when the main story happens. This would heighten the Queen's perceived jealousy, highlight SW's innocence and resourcefulness, and give the relationship with the dwarves more depth. Child when banished/Adult when romanced.

actually for the case of marrying at 14 that was only nobles and royals and if you survived past 5 unless you got a wound or disease you were likely to live to your 60s to 70s. the dying at 25 thing is because most died before 5 years old. actually in the tudor era of the 1400s-1500s they knew it was dangerous to get a young girl pregnant and risk her no longer being able to have kids, Margaret Beauford was a rare case at 14 because her husband was going off to war. her own granddaughter who married the king of Scots (I can't remember their names) only consummated the marriage at 14 but he didn't touch her again until she was closer to 17. its crazy how much we already knew back then

She’s very clearly really youn gin the Disney animated movie, and in the Grimm brothers’ version she’s even younger. Her being young also helps explain parts of the story as well. I personally think she’s at most 15, 16 would be pushing it.
