I have the exact situation with my son graduating this year, my current husband voluntarily gave his ticket to bio Dad because he knows my son is super close with his Dad, all the family that didn’t get tickets (including my husband) will still celebrate at his graduation celebration! I was so appreciative that my hubs was so selfless and mature about it, and didn’t make it about himself

When you get into a relationship with someone that has children with someone else, you have to realize the 2 parents will be in each other's life until one of them passes away, there are graduations and college graduations and weddings and babies and funerals and all sorts of events, celebrations and moments that you're going to have to attend where they are and support your kids. and as a stepparent, sometimes you need to step aside and encourage and support the relationship between both parents with the children. and you have to put yourself out of that mindset that the 2 adults are going together, the 2 adults were the ones that decided to have the children. And you, as a stepparent, are the one that chose to connect to this family.

As a stepmom, I would fully expect my step baby to choose idk the person who gave birth to him 🤦🏽♀️I wouldn’t do the raffle for the other ticket. She doesn’t deserve to be there.

I was trying to see stepmoms side until she brought up spending the day with the ex. Graduation is 2-3 hours tops, most families then go out to lunch or dinner, she can join them then.

This is not about your wife. It is about your son and the people HE needs there for his important day. When my daughter graduated not only did I make sure her father got a ticket I went and picked him up in my car. Our marriage didn't end well and there have been a lot of issues, but my daughter wanted her father there so I made it happen.

This happened when my step daughter graduated. It was during Covid. She was only given 2 and. Her dad and mom were the ones who got those tickets. I wasn’t hurt about it, just sad I didn’t see her graduate. Ops wife is selfish and insecure! His mom and dad are top priority!

I’m a stepmom, I can’t make it to my bonus daughter’s graduation for 2 reasons. My vehicle is having mechanical problems and we are short staffed at work so wasn’t able to get the time off. I will still watch her graduation via livestream, which I am thankful that they do. We told her we may not be there physically but we are there cheering for her.
