@snatched.anna: I still think counting calories is a great exercise—especially if you’re just starting out. When I began my weight loss journey, I was weighing everything. Like, literally weighing an apple down to the last crumb. To be honest, I did that for nearly 10 years. I started counting calories at 15 and probably stopped around 25. After a decade of doing it, I developed what I call “built-in scales.” I can tell you exactly what 70g of avocado or 300g of chicken looks like just by eye. That’s why I don’t count calories anymore—and I’m perfectly fine. But if you’re a beginner, I highly recommend it. It teaches you awareness: how many calories are in an avocado, an apple, a handful of almonds. It’s not about restriction—it’s about learning. Also, get yourself a kitchen scale. It’s a game-changer. Now, after 15 years of experience, I eat intuitively. I know my portions. I don’t obsess—and I’m happy.
