@tarongazoo: World Tree Kangaroo Day! 🌳🦘
For this special day we wanted to share some of our favourite Tree Roo moments 💚
There are 14 different species of Tree Kangaroo, ranging from the tropic rainforest in New Guinea, down to Northern Queesland.
We are home to the Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo, which are native to New Guinea and listed as endangered, mainly due to habitat loss for timber and palm oil. You can help reduce deforestation by buying certified sustainable FSC wood and paper products.
Ever had trouble spotting a Tree Kangaroo during your visit at Taronga? Just look up! ⬆️ 👀
Tree Kangaroos are arboreal and live high up in the tree canopy - so make sure to look up to spot one 🌳🦘
Psst… 🤫 Want the best viewing spots to see the Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo at Taronga? Look up at Forage and Graze cafe at our main entrance or on the boardwalk when entering the zoo #forthewild
