I grew my hair long from a twa by wearing braids! I kept them in for 2-3 months at a time, washed my hair every 3 weeks, and used As I Am’s rosemary hair mist every 3-4 days. While I feel like I could’ve taken better care of my hair age saw even more length retention, this is the result of my hair after 3 years of consecutive braids.

Thank you for this! I’m tired of people blaming braids instead of bad hair care while the braids are on the scalp/ bad installs. I’ve never had issues with braids because I do this.

As someone who has slightly damaged ends. (Curly) I always make sure than when I get braids I watch my hair really nicely and keep it in a silk bonnet. And when finished with any type of braids on my long curly hair i would oil it and nourish it . Always make sure to keep hair soft💖

I had my hair in braids for 2 weeks and when I took it out after my routine of course it was soooo freaking moisturized & now anymore now it's been 3 weeks since wearing my Afro since the braid take out and when I say my hair has been moisturized ever since & not even covered up either. Ik what I used was the best for me and now it's time for my wash again. My moisture lasted for a month and and a half I'm so proud of myself.
