Find the thickest root and cut it but do not remove it from the ground. Then attach a plastic bottle to the root so that the cut part is completely inside the bottle and secure it with electrical tape so that it does not leak. Fill the bottle with concentrated herbicide and this way the living root absorbs the herbicide and it reaches the entire root network. Even the thinnest root will die and you will not pollute the environment by spraying the herbicide, only the targeted plant will die. Use a slow-acting glyphosate-free herbicide.

bamboo can die if poisoned. Certain herbicides like glyphosate, when applied to bamboo foliage or cut stems, can be absorbed by the plant and kill it. The poison is then absorbed through the rootball, leading to the death of the entire plant.
