Maybe she needs her tonsils and adenoids removed ? Ask for symbicort instead of albuterol for maintenance use.

My son has the SAME problems I’m wondering if our pulmonologist will think maybe low flow at home to give the lungs a break might work

I wonder if she could benefit from a suction machine or a nose Freda?

have they done a bronchoscopy on her? my son has almost rhe same identical issues and they found protracted bacterial bronchitis and alot of inflammation on his lungs. they put him on antibiotics and then we went to pulmonology and they put us on Flovent inhaler 2 puffs twice daily and then albuterol 4 puffs every 4 hours for the first 2 weeks and as things started to improve the flovent remained daily but the abuterol became the as needed.

Hi, we went through this with my son they diagnosed him with laryngeal cleft BUT that was wrong. But totally can be for your case if you haven’t gotten a bronch done! My son ended up needing a feeding tube for a while to get things deflamed and is on anabiotic daily 3x a day for life possibly but is now able to eat and drink again with no issues of aspirating!

Ok albuterol is a rescue inhaler that’s given every 4-6 hours. She needs a maintenance inhaler like Flovent. Albuterol opens everything up, but the maintenance treats the inflammation.

Swallowing issues can be a sign of eosinphilic esophagitis. It is an autoimmune disease. I have it. I have reflux issues and sometimes breathing and upper respiratory infections because of it. I have been treated with many types of medication. I currently swallow albuterol as needed and take omeprazole twice a day. I also take albuterol when needed. It isn’t curable but you can change diet and treat symptoms. Just another avenue to explore. Best.

Why isn’t she on thickened liquids if she has aspirations? That’s literally the 1st thing for this.

I tried watching all your videos to the fullest before I asked any questions so my apologies if I missed this…. Have they looked at acid reflux issues? That was the cause of chronic aspiration pneumonia, esophagus issues and delayed swallowing.
