Ignorance of the law is not an acceptable defense. We the people are REQUIRED to know the laws. This is KIDNAPPING not an arrest and the officers should've been held accountable to that, just like a citizen performing an citizens arrest would be should they be in the wrong. Police MUST be held to a higher standard at all times to maintain integrity and trust with the citizens they have the privilege to serve.
