ah i see, so it’s similar to how long distance trains work right? with that diesel generator. coz your on a tug boat i doubt you’d ever really need to run it thought.

The 2 generators are for emergency charging, and also to drive the fire fighting pumps. Any questions ? Fire away ! The sound is louder on video then IRL. You can actually talk to eachother in the engineroom without raising your voice.

Kinda funny to all those comments about the generators, some really need to educate themselves. As a former seaman i enjoy the low engine noise and that tug.

Full electric for 1 mile, then you can turn on the 2 diesel generators to generate power for the electric motors

It’s amazing how many don’t understand the concept of emergency backup generators on an electric vessel. Yes it’s fully electric. It’s not relying on the generators for day to day operation.

Can u show the batteries, how much power storage do they hold, and how big it the charger. These are genuine curiosities. Big ship stuff has always fascinated me cause of the engineering that goes into everything.
