I disagree. When are we going to prioritize health over body positivity in this country? What is your definition of healthy?

YESSSSS. I’m a 5’11 woman, 215 lbs. Just had some blood tests, everything came back good and my blood pressure is textbook perfect. Plus I can out run my thinner friends 💀 my cardio is the best it’s ever been since I got a dog.

I’m not sure this is entirely accurate based on science. Not a gym guy here by any means just common sense

Health is a long term consequence built on short term decisions. Sure you can be healthy today, but the only way to guarantee longevity is by being fit

THIS!!! Because when I was 115lbs I was not taking care of my health and constantly sick and now at 160lbs I'm the healthiest I've ever been!

Not a gym bro. This is just dangerous and inaccurate. Great rage bait though.

Genetics account for 40 to 80 percent of our weight—a fact often ignored in favor of oversimplified narratives. Though nourishing food and movement serve the body well, they are but threads in a far more intricate tapestry. And I suspect few offering commentary here are truly equipped with the depth of knowledge such a subject demands. Some transformations are simply written into us—beyond effort, beyond intention. The sooner we meet that truth with grace, the more gently we will come to rest within ourselves. Nurture a rich expansive sense of self—so that who you are is never confined to how you appear. Thank you for this message, @Brendan Carpenter.

I think big is the wrong term. A number on a scale ≠ healthy. However, big as in obese or overweight. Can never be healthy. Body composition is important. You cant be 50% body fat and be healthy. Thats objective.

Thank you for this. Have been down on myself now in obese category after an ED and damage to my thyroid. But I’m doing so much better, not malnourished, stronger, and thriving!

I mean yeah but I don’t agree with Health at Every Size. You’re a bit overweight? Cool you’re probably still within healthy ranges for blood work, etc. Obese? Absolutely not.
