As a previous saddlebred owner, the amount of ignorance about saddlebred/hackney/etc. really any gaited horse, is insane. These horses literally live the life of luxury and are very intelligent and independent. They’re not doing anything they don’t want to.

I switched over to the hunter jumper world after 20 years of riding saddlebreds. People truly do not understand the breed and it is so unfortunate. Yorkies and Belgian Malinois are both dogs and people seem to do just fine grasping that concept. Different breeds have different qualities, it doesn’t mean one is less natural than the other😅

The amount of hate and uneducated comments that Morgans, Saddlebreds and Hackneys get is maddening! I try to not even address them but, it’s really annoying. Ppl accept different dog breeds but, stop at horses? It makes no sense!

I’m 100% that you love horses in every way. But it’s sadly true! not just the training that they do (even if it’s “natural”). When you see the body of a horse, that can’t be good! Why? Because horses need to work their back to have us on it for example. His neck is so so high so they can not muscle their back, our anything in the good way. But again I’m not attacking someone because I’m pretty sure that this girl love them so much.
