My youngest son’s name was Andrew, on his first day of kindergarten the teacher asked him if his nickname was Andy ? He looked up at her and in a stern voice said My Name Is Andrew! I just smiled and that was that 😊

I’ve had people try to shorten my name to Chel. I don’t answer to it except if you are 3 years old or younger.

I purposefully chose names for my kids that didn't have nicknames. I named my kids the name I chose, not a nickname. Good on her for speaking up.

Maybe post it on fb where your family can see ahead of time. Some might correct themselves before they see her again 💕💕💕 my girls both have names that are close to another name by a letter or two. They hate when they are said wrong. I get it.
