my neighbor told me I'm asking for everyone to steal my food. My thought is if someone needs vegetables bad enough to steal from my front lawn, they may need it more than I do and I'm more than happy to add more to it.

Here in Florida there’s a state law that protects your right to grow food in your front lawn, even in the HOA or city try to restrict it. Not sure about Texas but def worth checking if they give you a hard time

trying to currently work up the courage to build a garden in the front. it gets sun all day and a green house would give my family food longer in the canadian winter. why isn't this more normalized.

I do, and many people in my neighborhood do! We’re in a small city and space is so limited, most folks have little beds or boxes in their front yard. It’s so silly for people to be rude about it!

I used to garden in my front lawn because of my big dogs in my back yard. My neighbor’s wife tattled that her husband was “stealing” my tomatoes. I said “no ma’am, that’s his payment for keep an eye out for me” 🤭😉

I do! I’m in TX, too. We picked the spot because it’s full sun, and also we didn’t want to use up our backyard space for the vegetable garden since that’s where our kids play the most. We try to keep it aesthetically pleasing since it’s in the front.
