I had an old lady throw a big can of pie filling at me bc her check wouldn’t go through at any of the 5+ registers that I tried for her. Management still gave her the entire cart of groceries for FREE and a freaking giftcard 😭 I refuse to work in retail again

was working as a waitress and got hit with a full gallon of unsweet tea by a customer (not even on purpose I was focusing on another table and got in the way by accident) bc they threw it at my coworker cause it was brown

At my very first job as a cashier, just turned 16, I had a guy throw a glass 40 ounce beer bottle at me because I couldn’t sell it to him with food stamps. Store sent me to clean myself up then I had to clean up the register & get back to work

there was a customer at my store that was yelling at one of my employees and cursing at her as well all because my employee didn't know if we had a certain product. I heard the woman yelling so I came out of the office and asked what happened. my employee explained it to me so I go and look if we have said product which we didn't even carry. I found the customer to tell her and she started yelling at me telling me my employee was worthless and didn't know her a** from a hole in the ground. she said we should know everything there is to know about every single product in the store. I told her she wasn't going to speak to or about my employee that way. she continued her behavior so I told her she was no longer allowed to shop there. she said you cant make me leave. I told her I could and if I needed to I would call the police. I told her she was banned permanently from that location. she called my asm crying and lying about the whole ordeal trying to get my asm to lift the ban. my asm said I cant life the ban. I absolutely refuse to allow customers to mistreat my employees especially the employee In this situation because she is 19 and is always super nice to everyone. a few weeks later the lady called crying saying she was having a bad day. she wanted me to lift the ban. I told her I would only lift the ban if the employee was okay with it. I will always have my employees back when they are in the right.

One time I got yelled at because I was just following the scripts at my job (I work at a sit-down food place, and taking orders is an agony) and the lady didn’t tell me something about her burgers (I asked multiple times for this too), and my Manager came to the window after hearing that and told her off 😭
