in middle school my fanfiction was written on loose lined paper n put into a folder and one day I forgot it n couldn't find it, turns out my history teacher found it and graded it n the handed it back to me n asked for me to join the creative writing club 😭

Sometimes it's not the em dash, honestly. 😂 What gives them away the most is that unlike non-ficcers, fanfic writers tend to have this cadence in their sentences. They don't sound formal and straightforward, and they don't sound overcorrected like AI. Storytellers weave their sentences differently. 😊
