Iveco mechanic here. I have never done these type of works on our trucks they never have these type of problems. Only thing I do is service and Replacement of front axle oil seals at the drive shaft and wheel hub area.

the tip of that liner where it sits in the block did you check if it was pitting for maybe the block needs to be cut most of the time and have over size liners in?

good job, but why not put in new sleeves? One Sleeve is 90€ from Mahle. New Piston Rings too and that would be a perfect Job.
