to think what ford used to produce, the yb cosworth great engine compared to this modern rubbish. they are to dam complex now and the tolorences and programming are to fine for decent reliabilty.

We bought a 1.0L with 84000 miles on it and changed the original timing & oil pump belts. It was in remarkably good shape with very little debris blocking the oil pick up pipe. It had a full Ford service history that had been done regularly. Poor servicing with the wrong oil is the problem.

It’s seems like a good idea from Ford. Make money on gaskets and servicing and all that. But ultimately people won’t buy FORD.

I’ve got a mk3 rs and it’s on its 3rd engine the first one did 7000 miles the second 14000 and the third is on 28000
