My Grandad would have drilled holes first to ensure the wood doesn't split, and to make sure everything is aligned properly.

my grandad was an engineer and would never have attached it like that. the brackets need to support from the bottom, allowing you to use the top for other storage. ideally using larger. brackets though

yep but remember my dad and grandad used flat head screws and manual screwdriver no cordless then lol😂 used to give an old jar of bent nails and a hammer tell me to bang them straight....working with them great memories ..miss them both

as soon as I saw the lids and the price of wood I knew what he was making as I saw it on the disaster movie deep impact I thought that's a good idea and built a few myself 🙂

Everyone talking about the placement of the brackets, the shelf is so small and the weight it will hold is so little it literally doesn’t matter. You could put them on sideways on the edges and they would stay for 12 months easy. Not everything has to be an engineering marvel
