PO meds in the iv= PO meds go through the first pass effect so are higher doses since some will be metabolized. Iv meds are always less of a dose. some meds that are extended release cannot be crushed as well. instant death lol

Vet tech here… this reminds me of a case. We told an owner that his pet needed fluids. We can give dogs & cats fluids (LRS, usually) subcutaneously. Owner thought, “I can give my dog fluids without the vet!” Injected tap water under the dog’s skin. Yeah, it was bad.
