I don't usually judge people based on what they read, but when I see someone describe fourth wing as a "masterpiece" I distance myself away from them bc something is cleary not right.

Just a reminder to anyone and everyone, we're all different 🙂 If one person DNFs a book that you enjoy, it doesn't mean anything. You enjoy Fourth Wing but DNF Poppy War? That's fine. I hate when people make other people feel bad for liking a book they didn't enjoy. Everyone is different. Your reading journey is different. Opinions are opinions and they're ok, everyone has a different opinion.

when Violet from Forth Wing is in some training and to calm herself down she recites the world's history as a way to introduce the reader about the world building, yup threw the book right to the bin!

I didn't enjoy Poppy War and felt Babel carried a lot of the author's flaws over and magnified them which was frustrating. super glad you enjoyed both though. so many love Kuang's work, I'm convinced I'm just the wrong audience.

Sword or kaigen was described perfectly. Is a little messy in some spots? Yes, but still a 10/10. I believe it was her first book too. It’s the only book I have ever read that made my face leak.
