I agree with your assessment. What I think though is we are talking about the 'West'. The west deindustrialized. And with their war tendencies, that is not working. So there are some rays of sunshine in the darkness of never ending war.

I started teaching in 2012 and I was in a very progressive educationally but like a high pin of Arian nationality and it was weird and they ended last year in 2024 in a progressive city but a conservative part of town and it was very same, same but differentin it didn’t leave me feeling better

I always felt like humanism was kind of a veneer for how bad the 1st world really is. But after Iraq, Syria, and finally Palestine all felt like laboratories for the 1st world to test out if they can get rid of all the rules openly. No more illusions of rights and humanism, just naked power that can happen *anywhere*
