Just curious, why not do an in room sedation with the owner? Is this with pre visit meds? Just seems like undue stress on the pet when other methods could provide a better experience.

How is this not fear free? You minimized the patients stress by limiting restraint and provided sedation to when clearly required to examine the patient. I think this is a perfect example for fear free

is that a syringe pole? I wish more vets would try to do no contact sedation it's not helping the dogs anxiety for 2-3 people to come into the room and basically tackle them

I think it's important to remind ourselves that what might work for one patient, doesn't work for another. And not every patient is better with or without their owner. We all do our best to meet the needs of our patients and figure out the path of least resistance with it comes to patient comfort and safety. ❤️

This is such an underrated tool for small animal/GP settings! This is a no-brainer for wildlife/zoo focus parts of the field (where I'm in), but omg love this application for our pets' sedation!

WE NEED MORE OF THIS! I’m so tired of getting put into dangerous situations that cause more harm than good trying to sedate a very fearful aggressive animal.

We just got these and I’ve been begging for yearsssss. So much safer for everyone and from my experience so far they react VERY briefly. Kinda like a quick “tf? 🤨” obviously only for the ones you literally can’t touch

She did everything right. To protect the safety of yourself AND the animal this is the best route! If you have never been in this line of work please do not speak on it like you know what fear free is. 🫶🏻

I’d love to have this tool for those fractious babies who aren’t necessarily unhappy with us, but simply scared. A lot of times, holding to do this take lots of hands and ends in injury. I promise we love your babies 🥹. Amazing job 💛
