It’s funny how people make a comment on something that they don’t know what’s going on crawfish is a good source for rice plants. It’s a natural pesticide and a natural fertilizer to help the plant. Grow not only that but the rice will offer shelter to the crawfish from birds That’ll eat them.

Yes, the crawfish help the plants with fertilizer nutrients and eat the pests in the water… then at harvest they catch them and sell both rice and crawfish

Rice farmers do this because they are awesome for healthy rice & it gives them a secondary crop to harvest & more money. I literally just saw a TT on this last week.

you know that's exactly how these farms are operated? in rice patties they use crabs. for thousands of years crabs have been symbiotic with rice patties. they eat pests, they fertilize the crop, they taste good apparently. all wins
