The first video is pinned on my reels page. Scroll through the comments to be instantly transported back to year 1920 😂 This trip was nothing but laughs and I’m so thankful to have met and adventured with such a RAD group of women! We had the absolute BEST time together 💙 Creating space for other adventurous women brings me immeasurable joy. I became an outfitter and guide by necessity in order to legally run these trips. The process is arduous (at best) and I’m not sure if I’ll renew for the 2024 season. What I do know is that there is an absolute need for backpacking trips that are run for women, by women. Posting the first time about becoming the only woman outfitter in the Hells Canyon area opened my eyes to a much greater problem: Many men still hold so many limiting beliefs about women. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was absolutely shocking. In case seeing this video was triggering for you and you need a reminder: - Women can be knowledgeable and skilled in the outdoors - We can be knowledgeable and skilled in the outdoors AND make dancing videos - We don’t care what you think we look like. We aren’t out here for you, nor are we dressing with you in mind. - Advocating for women doesn’t mean we think women are superior to men - The simple fact that men are triggered by a woman outfitter AND that there are so few in Idaho further demonstrates the need to continue to advocate for women leadership in the outdoors - Just because a woman is skilled in outdoor things, it doesn’t make you less of a man Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. And…. #werestillnotlost . . . #womenempowered #womenledbusiness #womanoutfitter #maledominatedindustry #breakbarriers #crushthepatriarchy #womenintheoutdoors #womeninthewild #backpackingwomen
