@cammerstrength: Hypertrophy training gets your muscle super built 💪🔥 It’s a little higher rep and a little more aggressive. But that’s what your muscles need if you want them to seriously grow. They need to be challenged and doing the bare minimum won’t cut it. DM for coaching. Follow for more muscle building tips 💪 #buildmuscle #fitover40 #womenover40 #onlinecoach

Sophie :
I’m so confused.. lower reps heavy weight to build muscle, higher reps lower weight to get lean. Which do you do?

New research suggests that resting 60-90 seconds rest is suboptimal and inadequate. More like 3 minutes rest between sets…😳

So the idea that this rep range is superior to others is based on what exactly? Because in my experience the key is appropriate failure rates, 6-25 reps is likely just preference. Unless you have some sources that say otherwise

3 sets of 10 can absolutely build muscle. 6-8 reps can also build muscle while building strength. As long as you are lifting to failure any of these are good options.

8-15 reps but have to hit failure or it’s a waste of time, if wanting to build muscle.

the science actually shows that reps ranges from 5-30 reps are most beneficial for hypertrophy.

The other concern is age and recovery. I personally do much better with hard work once a week than trying to force in a second day before I’m recovered. I’m 57 not 27 things changed
