She does have a right to have family take her baby, and the officers should wait for a family member to come get the baby.

Put him in a baby seat or crib until the family member gets there. An officer can stand by the baby until her mom or whoever arrives.

They got a report from someone in the building of a newborn in the building. She made too many mistakes. Opening the door was the first one. Second was talking to the police without a lawyer. Third was to self report to police that DCS took her other child and is still trying to find her. If they left the baby there and something happened to the baby they would not be doing their jobs. I hope she gets her baby back.
