I wasn’t allowed sleepovers as a kid. I had a FEW in older teen years. At 25 now, I don’t feel like I missed out on anything or resent my parents at all

This is a super mature/reasonable take on things. This is being protective of real legitimate danger but still allowing kids to have experiences. I agree completely.

I wasn’t allowed to have sleepovers until my 10th birthday, and every single one was done at MY house. The only persons house I slept over at besides family was my childhood best friends house. Her parents were my 2nd parents so 😂

I witnessed and experienced some shady stuff when I was sleeping over at friends houses as a kid. That alone makes me confident that I won’t allow it either. I’d rather pick my kid up at midnight if need be

I’m the same way. My daughter was abused in the worst way by her dad at his house for years when I thought she was safe. You can’t trust anyone!!!!

I don’t have kids.. but as someone that had sleepovers as a kid, I refuse. they can stay as long as they want, I will pick them up at 2am, but they will not be staying the night

That’s my thing. My kids probably think they don’t have a choice to speak up if they are uncomfortable bc they’ve been taught to be polite. There’s so many variables . Not in law enforcement or medical field but It’s so simple, it’s just not safe.
