Question. I keep my plastic boards for when I cut/prep raw meat. If you don’t use a plastic board what do you use? I really wanna get rid of my plastic boards!

Raw meats need to be cut on plastic, stone, anything other than wood. Plus Kmart boards are made in china. Toxic chemicals would be used in their processing and production. 🤪

Okay, once I cut a chicken breast on a new wooden chopping board and it ended up so stinky that basically nothing helped. Had to throw it away and swap it for the stone one.

Absolutely agree – wood is definitely a step up from plastic, especially when it comes to food prep. That said, not all wooden boards are created equal. Many cheap ones are glued together with toxic adhesives that can leach over time.
That’s why we’re big fans of Fab Slab chopping boards – they’re made from a single slab of camphor laurel timber, which means no glue, no joins, and no toxins. Naturally antibacterial, durable, and Aussie-made – they tick all the boxes for a low-tox kitchen.
A cleaner, safer, and more sustainable option all round.
