i mean i get it, normal rain water definitely does not harm the vehicle, but the "car wash mode" probably turns off certain equipment to prevent it from being damaged from high psi water spraying it. reminds me of the apple watch when you had to enable a mode so that you could wash your hands or go swimming without any issues and then when you finished you would disable the mode.
