We need to stop referring to shark "attacks." From all I've heard and read, sharks do not usually regard people as prey. People get bitten in cases of mistaken identity or, as happens to Jamaican spearfishermen, by accident when dying fish are strung too close to a man's body.

Half the attacks but 5 times the deaths would, to me, put Australia at number 1. But really, swim in the ocean at your own risk, sharks are beautiful and can we F off all this talk about shark nets, all they do is kill the marine life and don’t prevent anything.

Went to Maldives trip in Feb, did that snorkelling with sharks thingy, istg that will be the last water activities i do. No more. Didnt expect the sharks look that big underwater. They circling around us 😭 Panic attacked but thank god the expert was there with me.

Sharks are actually friendly if you get to know them. They sometimes bite but that’s a show of affection which can sometimes lead to death. If you splash around and let them smell your blood they will perform first aid and sew you back together.

And people come to CT, South Africa 🇿🇦 to do shark cage diving. The chumming, they do to attract the sharks for this, brings more sharks closer to shore
