@georgieanngetton: Today I get to celebrate completing my Masters of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. When I decided to go back to school many assumed I was going to do an MBA because I’m all about business but I took another route. I pursued I/O Psychology. What the heck is that anyway? It’s the study of human behavior in the workplace AKA the Psychology of Business and Work. Being an entrepreneur and consultant for the last 12yrs I have had a very different perspective and experience on what work looks like. This has shifted when I work, how I work, and why I work. My goal for this degree was to answer the question “how are we building a healthy and positive future of work?”. I knew I needed more language, data, and history to begin answering that question. Now a graduate of this program, I plan to continue reimagining how work is done to help us all to live healthier and wholesome lives. I feel more equipped with the resources necessary to share how human-centered organizational processes will shape the future of how we work within our world of high growth in technology adoption and continuous innovation. With AI moving at the speed of light and a workforce revolution underway. I know with certainty that taking this route was where I am meant to be.
