Create a rain catchment system you can use a garbage can to make one. Rain water is best for the plants.

Pretty sure it’s just a carbon filter. That will last you a few runs. Those exhaust quickly.

alot of plants need to have a certain pH balance of water.also some plants don't like alot of water. regular city water ph fluctuates alot one day its 5.0 to 9.0.
