why would he leave bucky and sam, why would he go back to peggy knowing she had a whole life, how could he live knowing about hydra and the redroom, i could go on. i could write an essay about why steve’s ending makes no sense with his character arc, but wont. in short: steve’s character evolved into helping and comforting people when they experience hardships, and having loyalty, strong morals, and standing up for what you believe in. his ending goes completely against that. sure, he has the right to be selfish, but if you watched anything steve was in you would understand that he would never be selfish like that.
