The fact he could tell something happened and it took a while before his son finally told him what happened means Mom told them not to tell him about it. She's telling them to keep secrets from their father. He has every reason to be mad. What else is telling the kids to hide?

I usually agree, but not in this case. When she told him maybe she likes her parents, and she’ll do whatever she wants, that was it for me. She knows how toxic her parents are, and she should have protected her kids from them no matter what. Plus, her seven year old son should have never been put in that situation.

Nah. Bc he didn’t find out until his son told him. She’s got to face consequences and she stood up for her parents. She has to deal with it. Bc she put her parents over her kid’s. And they aren’t just hers they’re his too

she's been in therapy for years she should have developed coping skills by now if not she needs a new therapist..because at the end of the day he needs to protect the children

I don't believe for a moment that her parents "just showed up". She's been talking to one or both. She's low key a threat to her kids. Her unresolved trauma is leading her to sacrifice her kids, seeking the approval she never got as a child.

The wife is still looking for validation from her parents. I understand how he feels about his kids being treated differently but I think he needs to understand how hard that situation was for her. They need to stand firm together not let them come in between them

Nope. Disagree. Wife KNOWS parents are abusive. She is in Therapy for it so if they show up, the following should have happened: 1. Not answer the door, 2. Not let them in, 3.Stick to no contact with kids.

He just NTA. I understand that she was fighting her demons but I'll do wtf I want and I like my parents and want to let them around them took all that out. She could have stuck with the apology or articulated why she let them in better than that

Honestly, I feel for the wife because of the affects this has had on her mental state HOWEVER, that clap back statement, was NOT it at all!! The husband is trying to break the cycle at any cost and I see no fault in that.

I agree with you because yes she did try fix the situation but him telling her to pack up and leave was uncalled for. they need to have a serious discussion and move on with boundaries set. they both could have dealt with the situation better.

I still say NTA, it's clear OP wife is not ready to heal from them, so he cant save her, therapy cant save her, but he can save his children, especially his daughter, her saying "maybe I like them" shows she still wants a relationship with them

as a survivor of an abusive mom who tried to miss treat my kids. I would never let her close to my kids. he is NOT the a** hole. she should know better. she knows what they are capable of. she let them in she chose to open the door. he is right for what he did.

The sad part is that the little boy was more willing to fight those kinda demons for HIS SISTER instead of the mom fighting those demons FOR HER KIDS- Sooooo as it looks to me if he likes them so much apparently they must not have treated her that poorly then
