i had a teacher who straight up told me “mm i don’t think you have tourette’s” and i was just like ?????? she then proceeded to go on a rant about how people with tourettes that swear don’t swear because of tourettes, they swear because of ‘bad manners.’ i was just sitting there like 😶

I’ve had people question my Tourette’s Syndrome before, just cause they hadn’t seen me actively having an episode in that moment… I recognized that their intentions were never malicious but it was exhausting, and having these episodes takes so much out of you!
