I think the push and pull w the director made me fully understand how guarded he was and how he didn’t trust people because of what happened to him in his life.

I absolutely loved this documentary, I learned so much. The first episode really showed how all the elements of his life came together in the character of Peewee.

I was simply blown away how much of himself he hid away to prop up his pee wee persona. It was almost like a double edged sword where those moments when he did drop the pee wee persona with the arrests that he ultimately was ostracized for it.

The first episode was great, that’s where I learned the most about him! I didn’t like that the director left out details about his first arrest- cops in Sarasota were known to go to that theater on slow nights for easy tickets/arrests, and then a local journalist recognized his mugshot so wrote a story in the paper there about it-

The first part was 1hr & 40 mins long and I loved the deep dive into how Paul became Pee Wee. I think you watched more for the “dirt” than the real story
