I do this for a living you’ll probably find it’s chalk powder from where they have marked out the lines. If you wash the car it will probably come off.

They are responsible and you have evidence that is time stamped to the work order also matched time stamp.No signs and you can take action.Hire car at their cost,yours has to be perfect when done.

Had a similar incident with workers tarmacking the road , they don’t care about people’s property . Had to go nuts at head office they payed for full wash .

It’s chalk line, as a manager for a road marking company I deal with one of these complaints at least twice a year, they see the white thermo plastic and think it’s spray so don’t try and wipe it for fear of doing more damage.

Omg I have loads of paint splashes down one side of my car. I was stumped how it happened. Bet mine was bloody council too!!!!

Yeah fingers crossed it is as Matt said chalk lines. If not take plenty of pictures and sue council. If actual the resin they use, then sadly whole car will require wet and dry sanding to remove it. Because it’s hot when applied. So more than likely bonded to clear coat.🫣😩
