I highly recommend purchasing the Fast Track option for 11 euros. It only covers security, but at least it helps.

They trick you by putting all the food stalls BEFORE passport control. So you think you’re an early bird and sit at Starbucks for an hour, only to learn you still have to conquer passport control.

Guys... Relax. Its only for non-EU destinations and travelers. And mainly because so many British tourists came to Portugal. As a EU citizen you don't have a passport control.

Got to the Lisbon airport more than 3 hours in advance and still almost missed my flight!! Thankfully it was delayed otherwise I wouldn’t have made it. It was ridiculous!!

This happened to me too! We came to the airport over 3 hours early and we spent over an hour just waiting to check our bags and stopped for a quick breakfast . . . Only to realize there’s security part 2. It’s very misleading. We just made our flight by like 1 minute . . . The most stressful thing ever.

Had the same issue literally last week leaving Porto. Luckily half our flight was in the line so they started funnelling all of us to the front

I don’t see why anyone is surprised, especially with the current political climate, but anyone who regularly travels knows always go to porto airport not Lisbon, show up 2-3 hours early like any airport and you’ll be fine!

Australian here - I had to go through passport control and security for a flight and came three hours early. I cleared border + security in 20 minutes. It really depends on what time you go and I don’t think this is unique to Lisbon

Omg yes make sure you get there 4 hours before your flight, we didn’t know the chaos of Lisbon airport and got there 3 hours early and JUST made it on time for boarding

It was nuts at LIS. It was so damn crowded I missed the boarding gate by 1-2 min. Luckily they still let me on
