My 98 yo Mom has dementia and is incontinent. We're in our 60s and 70s. We literally cannot physically care for her. She loves the memory care unit, we visit often, and the staff is just wonderful.

Depends on the parents. I have two amazing parents who I love being around. But if your parents were abusive or miserable to be around, that shouldn't be your burden.

It was my responsibility- who’s else would it be? I took care of my mom for months as she slowly died of cancer. I was her comfort. Her joy. Her reason to smile.

I used to work in nursing homes and how the elderly are treated in nursing homes I would never in a million years put my mother in one they raised you and took care of you when you couldn't take care of yourself now it's your turn to take care of them when they can't take care of themselves💯

Dep0ends on the fa,miley dynamic. Mine is toxic but I think y daughter would take me in or make sure I’m cared for. She knows what I did for her and not because I laid guilt trips. She has always appreciated me and we have a great relationship

No there should be no obligation. However at 56 I'm taking care of my mother who has dementia because I'm determined to be a good person and a good example for my children.

this seems like an easy question answer but it ain't. good parents that raised their kids in a loving home is easier to answer. not all of us were raised that way.

Out of the 3 of my children my daughter has already said she will take care of her parents lol. She has seen what goes on in nursing homes and she said she won’t let that happen to us lol My boys it’s a coin toss lol

Yes! It’s in the Bible, I even told my kids not to put me in a home just put me in the back of the house, I am Mexican and we do not put our parents in a home.

absolutely. we are to care for our parents with love compassion and honor them. I have been there and it's not easy but it was the right thing to do. both my parents are with God now and I have no regrets because I honored them.
