Let’s not forget—she asked for a divorce multiple times and said she was done. That might explain why she’s telling the story so matter-of-factly. Dealing with a drug addict is no joke—it’s emotionally draining and exhausting

Trauma causes a person to “report,” a numbing effect of recounting your traumas over and over. EMDR (post therapy) also detaches the emotion from the event. Either way, she’s not heartless. She’s traumatized.

When you love someone like this, you grieve them for a long time before they die. He’s been dead for years to her. She knew it was going to happen. It changes the emotional impact when you have a lot of anticipatory grieving.
