You are probably going to be turned away again as a black tie event is not only referring to the colour of a tie, (and often it should be a bowtie rather than a necktie), it usually referred to the entire attire, tuxedo for men and full length gowns for women. Just saying.

I knitted a tie for a family friend on a joint vacation. It was ridiculously long because it stretched. He had to tuck the skinny end into his pants. I did this because an elderly couple had looked rudely at him for how he was dressed for the hotel dinner buffet the day before.

It’s the rules, you know this when you book. If you don’t wish to dress appropriately then go on a line that allows that sort of behaviour. We’re sick of people flouting the dress code.

The issue is these party night are a complete farce. Same restaurants as the day before, just a load of penguins and wanna be bridesmaids wandering around the ship, most people’s idea of a celebration was queing to get their photo taken on the stairs. Totally outdated and a waste of time.
