Work in ophthalmology, I see 75 patients a day on a slow day. When working a neuro or retina clinic I see a ton of people with NAION not on ozempic. Both T1 and T2 diabetes is a HUGE problem for vision loss by itself, I’m not saying it’s not a side effect but I am saying the number in retrospect is low. If he has ever smoked cigarettes, if he had high blood pressure, metformin can cause blurry vision, there is also NPDR and PDR which is diabetic retinopathy, could have had underlying retinal or macula edema 🤷🏽♀️If there’s anything I learned in this field,…diabetes and glaucoma are the absolute most terrifying. Take care of yourselves and see your optom once a year :)

He has diabetes,that disease alone can cause horrible symptoms. And metformin is the worst drug on the market.
