our minds are inherantly flawed in their interpretation of everything. We interpret future events through the context of memory 1/3

I get what you’re saying, but time is not a product of our mind, it is not fact. Time exists regardless of us our or consciousness, before humans, billions of years ago, time still existed, it’s a dimension that’s intertwined with space, it’s always been since the birth of the universe. Our interpretation of it is subject to change, but time itself is definitely not a product of our mind.

Time is a concept we made up to understand what we experience BUT That doesn’t mean that time wouldn’t exist without our cognition does it? It’s like if there were no humans or life in earth the laws of physics would still play out the same we just wouldn’t exist to recognize or document

If you’re speaking purely based off of our subjective experience I do understand, however time and truth exists regardless of how we remember or interpret it. So you might think you got 8 but truthfully you got 7 regardless of your memory. So ig I disagree I believe time continues and existed regardless of us acknowledging it

I’d go further to say the past is negotiated, the present is always under siege, and the future is completely unknowable, as it is the thing that hasn’t happened yet

time as we see it is a heuristic but all it is really is how we describe the fact that our experience changes

you should read the chapter of Maurice Merleau-Ponty's book Phenomenology of Perception titled "Temporality" ! He talks a lot about the relationship between the past and future and he posits that we might not be living in the present because of this 😅

Hi<3 :
A lack of recollection, or how you called it, faulty cognition, does not diminish the solidity of existence/what has happened, only the perception of such.

I like your approach, it is interesting but time is not subjective FOR A FACT. Although I like non absolutist visions of time and space, like Mach's idea, there have been more successful theories on absolute time and space. I like the eternist vision of time. Makes more sense to me :)

To your understanding you got 8 cookies but the universal fact is you got 7, the fact you remembered something differently and absolutely think the different reality true doesn’t shape to be actually real

time is a real thing and the past is real. it doesn’t warp but our interpretations of it change. that doesn’t change what happened.

I don't believe it is our mind that is flawed, it is our understanding of the mind. Something that may seem like a mistake or a misfire to you may have had its perfect flawless reason to happen

It’s not fact, if you read any of the contemporary analytic philosophical literature on the philosophy of time, the view you’re talking about isn’t even among the candidate options. Kant’s view about the nature of space and time was largely held back by the fact that science hadn’t progressed to develop the STR. It’s the same reason his criticism of say the ontological argument or cosmological argument, don’t hold up to contemporary renditions. Had the universe evolved in roughly the same way but without any intelligent minds, the nature of time would remain unaffected. Whether time is tensed or tenseless

Time I warped it self and we have a flawed view on it because we can’t experience it for what it actually is. We can’t experience the 4th dimension (time) on the same realm it exist on. We can only experience it from a 3rd dimension perspective. Same with gravity (5th dimension). We can only experience its effects on the 3rd dimension. So we can only conceptualise it. Everything exist at the same time. The past, the now and the future. Our memory and our time are not connected because time is beyond our control. I think our future is out of our control too, you can call it “destiny” but if you look at the nature of time then it’s not farfetched to think that the future as already happened so our choices aren’t actually our choice. Plus time is different depending on where you exist in the universe (the theory of relativity) because of other dimensions and the expansion of the universe. I think also that black matter influence time but we barely know what that even is so 🤷♂️. Also just wanted to add that the past isn’t even fact because so many people have tampered with history to benefit their own agendas. So we can’t trust what people say because either they don’t remember or they lie. My bad for my rant, I don't know if this is really related to the points that were raised in the video. 🙂👍

Isn’t all of it a product of our mind though? None of it, objectively speaking is knowable, only observable. (ie; subject to the observer/Mind - ref. “Laurel vs Yanny” or “white & gold vs black & blue” dress. Time is even more subjective. Either way, I am falling in love with your content!
