€150 per hour is not too high for a good workshop. People must remember the cost of running a garage , equipment, wages , revenue taxes, insurance, electricity, water rates , general council rates , EPA charges . To name only a few costs.

I'd sooner pay €150 for 10 hours for a top technician to diagnose and repair a car than pay someone €50 per hour to have a look and spend weeks trying to slove the issue

can I ask, are you charging €150 for the man-hour of the apprentice doing the normal everyday stuff? €200 p/h is about right for a specialist snag....but €150 p/h for an oil change/service seems a little steep...how do you break it down? genuine question - keep up the great work 👍

the average in Dublin now for a main dealer or any big sized workshop is at least €100+ vat per hour.

Lots of dealerships are charging 150 / 160 + vat an hour & apprentices that hasn't learned much yet working on the cars,At least the independent experienced guys like Dave here know & will had you back a car that's fixed

it's expensive especially if that's plus vat too but the thing is, many Plumbers are 100 an hour and up to 150-200 an hour for emergency callouts and they're booked up for months with work. tools are generally more expensive for a mechanic too and don't have rent, rates and electricity of a workshop to pay for either.
