My super phrase was, "okay, do two last things then it's time to go." Two is the magic number for some reason. We stopped having tantrums and they instead hurried to do the last two things and did them quickly.

Funny I’ve learned exactly this ON MY OWN by just being his mom & having to learn HIM. I live I. His world now & it’s made all the difference , I hope my husband understands this one day. Our old way of parenting is ✌🏼bubye

I give my son, who is 8, a heads up on when it's time to leave, I give steps to do things in the morning. I also just give him one thing at a time to do, and tell him the consequences but doesn't seem to really work that will.
