@robbiejleigh: Replying to @cgbspender1 How much do doctors want? Is it fair? 🧑⚕️ #doctor #physicianassociate #nhsdoctor #politicsuk #reformuk #medicalstudent #nurse
Can I just ask if you were a patient in the bed and you have just spent nearly 24 hours in A&E waiting for a bed to come? You finally get that bed and then to be told you’re not gonna see a doctor because they’re on strike. How would that make you feel?

You do realise that applying the CPI index to doctors pay since 2008 demonstrates that their pay is now ahead of pay then following the 5.4% offer. No one uses the RPI index any more, except of course the BMA chancers. It's not just pathetic it's embarrassing

According to the RPI your wages are higher than 2008

This is very reasonable, for the level of knowledge , expertise and professional qualifications .

So let me get this right … 80k + Drs want people on minimum wage to pay more tax so they can get another 15k per annum?

they already got 20%. just greed!

“It’s something we could afford 15 years ago, why can’t we afford it now?” SERIOUSLY?? Doid you miss the 14 years of Tory austerity and funding cuts?? 2008 was after 11 years of a Labour government, you’re asking for a 60% pay rise over the last 2 years! You can’t think that’s reasonable surely!

Everyone wants an inflation adjusted pay rise, everyone is struggling financially and deserve to be paid fairly to live, the only difference is, people understand there is no more money and don’t have ‘life’ as a bargaining chip.

We cant afford it now because the NHS is funded by taxation and the rest of society have not had inflationary pay rises over that time. If the BMA wanted to try to get pu lic support they should explain amd comvince the public what % they want to see income tax rise in order to cover it. Explain to struggling families how they should struggle more to fund doctors pay rises.

I really do support Doctors, and I wish this was realistic. But it’s not. The country cannot afford to give pay restoration to doctors. The country’s finance have been in toilet since the 2008 crash.

You go into Medicine for the prestige, not the salary. Most people in the financial services earn more than doctors to shift images around on a PDF deck.

unfortunately the NHS has become an organisation that benifits its employees rather than patients. pay rises aside it desperately needs overhauling from top to bottom

Guys just remember if doctors get more pay rises then let’s all go out kicking and screaming demanding more payrises so their payrise is effectively nullified by inflation. Our heros doctors want a payrise over and above everyone else they want you in the mud still so they can get a nice car.

Honestly every video I see on this confirms how out of touch with reality Drs are. Instead of winning support you are pushing people to want privatisation. We can’t have people holding the country - and our health - to ransom. Get on with your jobs or get another one.

but what willl happen next then? you get your pay rise then you'll gonna ask for another 10%, or ab extra 2% onto of the inflation amount

A typical NHS consultant retiring at 60 can expect a pension of over £43,000 a year for life, plus a tax-free lump sum of around £135,000. This can be significantly higher if they retire later, with the possibility of reaching £68,000 a year at their state pension age

life isn't fair. I just want a mortgage that I could get in 2008. Doesn't work like that most government jobs had a pay freeze for a few years since then. Should the government do the same for everyone? That just isn't affordable.
