@the.motivated.par: what happens when you give sodium bicarbonate and calcium chroride to close in the same line too close . sidenote not as much data to support sodium bicarbonate in arrest other than anecdotal ,many are not recommending standard use unless indicated such as TCA overdose#CapCut @One Shear
I mean.. that’s fair but a couple things to consider. CaCl + NaHCO3 undergo a double displacement rxn = CaHCO3 (insoluble in water, which causes the milky look) + NaCl. Problem is that’s in a very concentrated area with no buffer. When they’re both dispersed in blood, the doesn’t happen because very large displacement and proteins that “catch” ionic forms of Ca+ and HCO3. Plus there’s a body buffer system that utilizes that bicarb.
