I see a lot of comments talking about cops need to learn to fight. While I'm not disagreeing because Law Enforcement DT is seriously lacking, you have to take into account 1) He's alone 2) All it takes is one slip or one lucky hit and you're out. What happens when the suspect gets the upper hand and shoots you with your own gun??

Its not a cops job to be good at fighting to save someone else's life when they're unreasonable. Its why attacking cops is a crime, because it's not their job. Cops fight suspects often because people have no self control / responsibility.

As an upfront, LEO in Michigan. At least here, you cannot shoot a man just because your taser doesn’t work and you cannot fight. I was honestly baffled when I watched this footage in its entirety. Am I somehow missing how this guy posed a deadly force threat?

This is a good example to me of why cops should train GSTs and BJJ. It was a good shoot, but could’ve possibly been avoided with a strong submission.

Your hands are considered deadly weapons, so due to the suspect already over powering the ofc. then , I guess he had to do what he felt was reasonable to save his own life.

The media tells these kids they will be a martyr/hero if they end up on a t-shirt. Look at him walking towards the officer, he wanted this and sadly the officer will have to live with this for the rest of his life
