I inherited a female yellow-naped Amazon when my 96 year-old grandmother died. No one in the last 20 years could touch that bird except Gramma. After Gramma died, I opened her cage, offered my hand, & we connected instantly! She is 60 years old, but she is my baby! There is complete trust. Sometimes I hold her I wonder why she chose me. But every time I do, I feel my grandmother‘s love❤️And now I’m the only one who can hold her. There is nothing like the love of a bird! This is so beautiful and I am so happy for you🥰

Have you consulted with any cockatoo experts? Cockatoos have deep social and family connections and they can be really hurt if their human family isn’t capable of maintaining a high level of interaction. If you can’t spend all day with your cockatoo then it’s important to promote a certain level of independence in them. If you’ve already consulted with experts, ignore this. And if you haven’t, then I hope you aren’t offended and will consider speaking with an expert. ❤️
